Reading Outdoors
It is World Book Day on Thursday but we celebrated it 2 days early. Pupils and staff dressed up as book characters or genres. We did some storytelling in the woods first then we all chose a place to sit and read our books - up trees, on logs etc.
I love this idea, and I am so glad to see older pupils outside reading. I created a reading area under the slide in my nursery playground using tarps & milk crates & at any given time there is always at least 1 child in there reading. Would you consider linking this post up to an outdoor play link up I have over at my blog? Kierna http://nosuchthingasbadweather.blogspot.com/2012/03/outdoor-play-link-up-risky-business.html
